How wholesale works

Wholesale covers the handmade mouthpiece range only. Everything is cast, cut and finished by hand to order, so nothing ships from stock and the lead time is the first thing to agree.

How the price is worked out

One lever, and it is the one you control: the more you order, the less each piece costs. There is no standing discount on an account to remember or to argue about, so the same order costs the same whoever placed it.

Volume-based discount pricing

The more pieces on the order, the less each one costs. Not a table of steps that you fall just short of. Each series has an upper wholesale price and a lower one, and the price moves in a straight line between them as the order grows.

At 5 pieces Each piece costs the upper wholesale price for its series.
Between the two The price moves smoothly with the quantity. There is no cliff to sit under.
At 40 pieces or more Each piece costs the lower wholesale price, which is the floor.

Worked out on the total pieces on the order, across the whole range rather than per series. Spreading an order over three series is still one order, and it should not cost more than concentrating it. This part is identical for every account.

The floor

Each series has a price below which it is not sold, whatever the quantity. If the curve would take a piece under it, the floor is what you pay. It is the only reason a number on your order might not match the arithmetic above.

The minimum order is 5 pieces, the same for every account.

Ordering, in practice

Choosing Pick a specification and a quantity, as many lines as the order needs. Each series has a one-click default spread, a range picked so customers can try several responses in the shop.
Two steps What you want, then where it goes. Your own purchase order reference goes on the invoice and is marked on the package.
Phased delivery On a large order, have it shipped as the work is finished rather than in one lot at the end. More freight, stock on your shelf sooner.
Lead time Confirmed when the order comes back, because it depends on what is already on the bench.
Payment A proforma invoice, paid before work starts. Everything is made to order, so the pieces exist because of your order rather than before it.
Freight At cost, trackable, signature on delivery unless you have a PO box.
Reordering Any past order can be loaded back into a new one, so a repeat is a couple of clicks rather than rebuilding it from memory.
